The Eleanor & Franklin Roosevelt Democratic Club was founded in 1976 to further the principles of the Democratic Party and to elect Democratic candidates in general elections. We help to organize poll workers and voter registration drives. The Roosevelt Club serves western Prince George's County, including areas in the 21st, 22nd and 47th State Legislative Districts.
First, a big thank you to everyone who helped in one way or another to get the vote out in our area as well as Pennsylvania, Virginia, North Carolina, and Florida!!! Everyone made a difference. While some Republicans continue to contend that the presidential race is not over, Team Biden is in full effect moving ahead with the transition.
Monthly meeting occurs Sunday, November 22 at 3p.m. on Zoom (RSVP here for link)
Georgia on my mind: Now, for the next six weeks, the focus is on the two U.S. Senate races in Georgia. Jon Ossoff is taking on incumbent Republican Senator David Perdue and Rev. Raphael Warnock is taking on incumbent Republican Senator Kelly Loeffler. If the Democratic candidates win those two races, which would be quite an accomplishment, then the Senate will have a 50-50 split with Kamala Harris, as Vice President, breaking the tie. To learn how to help with that effort, come to the club’s membership meeting this Sunday.
Club Elections Additionally, the club’s election of officers will also occur at the meeting. There are a couple of open seats on the board, so if you want to make a difference, please consider putting your name forward.
Membership: Finally, It's time to renew your annual membership! Here's a link to renew on-line
