The Eleanor & Franklin Roosevelt Democratic Club was founded in 1976 to further the principles of the Democratic Party and to elect Democratic candidates in general elections. We help to organize poll workers and voter registration drives. The Roosevelt Club serves western Prince George's County, including areas in the 21st, 22nd and 47th State Legislative Districts.
June Meeting: Our Annual Picnic - Virtual!
The Roosevelt Democratic Club’s annual picnic will take place on Sunday, June 28 at 3pm (on Zoom due to the corona virus). If you’d like to be part of the action, RSVP using this link or use the calendar page to reserve your place at the event.
Thanks to former Club President Nicole Williams, Yvette Lewis, Chairwoman of Maryland State’s Democratic Party, will be our special guest to discuss efforts to help elect former Joe Biden as president in our state as well as efforts to help in key states such as Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Ohio.
The importance of voting was expressed well by Jon Batiste, band leader for the Stephen Colbert show: “There are three candidates running for President: Trump, Biden, and Apathy”. His point simply put – vote.
Locally, The Roosevelt Club’s leadership, which has reached out to its membership to renew their annual fee, requests you to consider pitching in to its Fala Fund to contribute to key U.S. Senate elections in Arizona, North Carolina, Maine, Colorado and Kentucky. (See Club web site.)
