URGENT: Tomorrow’s Meeting Postponed (Inclement Weather)

Due to the incoming inclement weather and out of an abundance of caution for the safety of our members and our guest speaker, we are postponing tomorrow’s meeting (February 22nd) at the Greenbriar Community Building.

While we were very much looking forward to our briefing with James Williams Jr. and discussing our recent "Blue Pulse" survey results, your safety is our top priority. We want to ensure that everyone can attend and participate without the risk of hazardous travel.

What happens next: We are currently coordinating with Mr. Williams and the facility to secure a makeup date. We will send an email with a concrete date and time as soon as it is confirmed.

About Our Guest Speaker

James Williams Jr. brings decades of high-level legislative experience to our community’s discussion. A Washington, D.C. native, his career highlights include:

• Chief of Staff to Rep. John Lewis: Serving the civil rights icon and "conscience of the Congress" during a pivotal era of American history.

• Legislative Powerhouse: A veteran of six Congressional offices, James has secured over $760 million in federal funding for community development, research, and public health.

• Community Advocate: Currently the Director of Federal Relations for the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, he continues to advocate for health equity on a national scale.
