Decisions made in the General Assembly directly shape the quality of life in Greenbelt, from the strength of our local housing cooperatives to the funding of our neighborhood schools. In May, we bring the focus home to our own representation in the Maryland State House and Senate. As we approach the 2026 Primary, this forum provides a critical opportunity to engage with the incumbents and challengers who will be our voice in Annapolis. Join us to hear their vision for the next legislative session and how they plan to champion the values of District 22.

• Maryland State Senate (District 22): Alonzo Washington

• Maryland House of Delegates (District 22): Ashanti Martinez, Molly McKee-Seabrook, Craig Hayes, and Tracy Gant

Format: Candidates will provide brief introductory statements regarding their 2026 legislative priorities. Following the remarks, the floor will open for a Q&A session. To ensure a productive dialogue, attendees will be provided with index cards upon arrival to submit their questions, which will be vetted and read by the Vice President to cover a broad range of community concerns.
