On Friday, February 18th, 2022 at 7:30pm our Club will celebrate Black History Month by hosting a speaker from the Association for the Study of African American Life and History (“ASAALH”).  The ASAALH was founded in 1915 by Carter G. Woodson to chronical and preserve Black history and culture. 

The theme for Black History Month 2022 is "Black Health and Wellness".  Our speaker will be Marie Day, a member of the ASAALH Prince George’s County Truth Branch, and a volunteer with WomenHeart.  Her background in medical technology and her own personal insights on heart disease will offer a perspective to raise awareness and help educate others about prevention strategies.  Thanks to Katy Pape from the club's Programming Committee for arranging this speaker.

With over twenty years in immigration law, Jill Marie Bussey applies legal analysis, experience, and strategic thinking to immigration law and policy challenges.

Jill began her legal career as an immigration paralegal and has a post-graduate certificate in Legal Assistant Studies from George Washington University.

She went on to pursue her law degree, graduating cm laude with a Juris Doctor with a concentration in Business Law from the University of Baltimore School of Law. Jill has been practicing law since 2004. Jill is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association.

Jill is an immigration lawyer, a passionate and tenacious advocate, and community leader who serves as the Director of Public Policy at Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service.
